Not only do we follow Audio Engineering Society Standards on Interconnections - Grounding and EMC Practices, we helped write it.
The TECH SHOP's audio cables are made of high quality supplies and expert craftmanship. We normally use the Neutrik BAG series connectors for XLR and Quarter Inch cables. The connectors have silver, the best conductor of the metals, and it is the best for audio electronics. Upon request, we will use gold; gold is the best for weather exposure. We use solder that contains silver. If you need an ELCO or EDAC cable (the standard multi pin connector in professional recording studios), we either solder or crimp and solder, depending on the cable used. Solder bonds the wire to the pin; it is the most reliable. Gold should not have a crimp directly to copper, as there will be a migration of electrons, and the connection will loosen over time. For our DB25 digital and analogue audio cables, we use AMP. The best we have been able to find, and while they are a few dollars more expensive, it takes less time to terminate the cable.
Crimping and a variety of connectors and cable are available upon request.
